The conference will take place in Trier.

Trier is a historic city in southwestern Germany, located in the scenic Moselle Valley near the border with Luxembourg. Often regarded as Germany’s oldest city, Trier was founded by the Romans around 16 BC under the name Augusta Treverorum. It later became one of the most important cities in the Roman Empire north of the Alps. Today, Trier is renowned for its impressive Roman heritage. The city is home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Porta Nigra – the best-preserved Roman city gate north of the Alps – as well as the Imperial Baths, the Roman Amphitheater, and the Basilica of Constantine. These ancient structures offer a fascinating glimpse into the past and attract visitors from around the world. In addition to its Roman legacy, Trier also features beautiful medieval architecture, charming narrow streets, and lively squares. The Trier Cathedral, built on the foundations of a Roman palace, is one of the oldest churches in Germany. Surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills, Trier is not only a city of history, but also a center of wine culture, especially famous for its Riesling wines. With its rich cultural heritage, picturesque landscapes, and relaxed atmosphere, Trier offers a unique blend of past and present.
