The main conference will take place at the Rectorate Building of Universidade Nova de Lisboa (UNL), workshops, tutorials and other events at the nearby building of the Nova School of Business and Economics. This complex is located in Campolide, on one of the seven hills of Lisbon. The Rectorate building was awarded the Lisbon’s Valmor Prize for Architecture in 2002.
On the 26th, registration will be done at the lobby of the Nova School of Business and Economics' Library (turn right when entering the building). From the 27th onwards, registration will be at the Rectorate Building.
Getting the feel of a city involves a mixture of observation and experience that only come when we allow ourselves to be drawn into its daily life and discover its smells, sounds, voices, lanes and hidden corners. In Lisbon, the Tagus river is never far away as we explore the history-laden streets of a city that constantly confronts us with its past, as the decorative cobble pavements lead us up from the Praca do Comercio through the 18th century Lower Town to St. George's Castle. From the Castle, we can enjoy unparalleled views of the south bank, Rossio, the Carmo Convent, the Bairro Alto, the Avenida da Liberdade and Parque Eduardo VII, Nossa Senhora do Monte and the Mount of Graca. It could be for all the world a picture postcard of Lisboa under a perpetually blue sky, reflecting the varied colours of the roofs, streets, old houses, window frames and green spaces, offset by the glittering stream of the Tagus! Lisbon-airport is only 10 minutes away (7 km) from the conference venue, located at Reitoria of Universidade Nova de Lisboa. See below the list of available options.
Lisbon airport can be reached directly by subway. The subway station is called Aeroporto and it is the end of the red line as demonstrated in this Metro map. At the airport, you have to follow the metro sign that will lead you to the station.
