How to get there

You can travel by railway, airplane or car to reach the Conference Venue from outside Pisa:

  • Arrival by plane via Pisa airport: the airport is on the outskirts of the town, approximately 6 km from the Institute. To reach the Conference Venue, it is probably most convenient to take a taxi. Otherwise, you have to take two different buses: bus LAM Rossa (L/R) (direction S. Iacopo) from the airport to the railway station and then bus LAM Verde (L/V) (direction Via di Pratale) getting off at the first stop in Via Volpi - CNR. Tickets are on sale within the airport.
  • Arrival by train via Pisa railway station: The railway station is approximately 5 km from the Institute. To reach the Institute you can take bus LAM Verde (L/V) (direction Via di Pratale) getting off at the first stop in Via di Pratale. Tickets are on sale outside the railway station.
  • Arrival by car: From motor way A12 (green signs) Exit Pisa centro, then follow the high way (blue signs) to Florence up to the Exit Pisa Nord Est and follow the road signs to the Area CNR, about 10 min. from the motor way exit. You can click here to plan your route. If you drive from the airport, see this map. Parking is available.

Hotels

Since there is the "Luminara di San Ranieri" (on June 16, the eve of feast day of Saint Ranieri who is the patron saint of Pisa, the buildings along the Arno River are transformed into a fantastical fairyland setting) in the same week in Pisa, attendees are advised to book their local accommodation and travel as soon as possible.
